Who is the man behind this blog?

I am the increasingly visible Paul Plamondon. I live in Southern California with my partner, Tom, and our handsome pit-bull mix, Joey. I am now on an ever-evolving quest to transform the way I see myself and the way I live my life.

I grew up in Las Vegas with my parents and two older half-sisters in the shadow of my father’s decision to leave his life as a Catholic priest, marry my mother, and bear one child (me). I was raised in an environment of unimaginable, shame-inducing secrecy that permeated my existence and set me up for a life of struggling with what I call “invisibility.”

As part of my personal journey, I started this blog in October, 2007 to tell my own story of invisibility, to build a community of Invisible Lives, and to help others transform the way they see themselves and live their lives.

Today, I have a growing coaching practice in which I offer two different services:

  1. Life Coaching - to help individuals who want to improve their personal or professional lives;
  2. Workshop Design Coaching - to help individuals and small teams create their own workshops and educational programs.

I received my training as a professional coach from The Coaches Training Institute, Doug Silsbee’s The Art of Mindful Coaching, and Marlena Field’s Body-Mind-Spirit Coaching. I am currently completing my formal coaching certification with The Coaches Training Institute.

In addition to coaching, I lead a successful consulting practice, Custom Training Design, in which I design workshops, training programs, and educational materials for individuals, small and large businesses, and Fortune 500 companies. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology from Occidental College and a masters degree in Education/Training & Development from the wonderful web-based school, Capella University.
